Directed Study Classes
The Directed Studies program gives each student the opportunity to succeed in any class that they take and is designed to increase academic self-esteem. A student learns through one-on-one instruction with an appointed instructor. Having the one-on-one learning environment allows for in-depth discussions and details that can be missed in classroom settings. Most schools, if contracted with prior to beginning a course, will accept the credit and grade for all completed Directed Study courses (some restrictions apply).
Why would someone take a Directed Studies course?
- If a child or an adult has struggled with a subject in a classroom environment they are able to succeed with this type of model and gain academic empowerment that can help raise their academic self-esteem.
- If a child or an adult has learning disabilities that have affected their success in school they can learn how to use their strengths and how to work with their learning difference to make learning a more positive experience.
- If a child or an adult wants to get ahead or wants to take a class that is not offered at their school they can take a more advanced course with us.
- Test taking strategies are worked into every course as are study skills and learning efficiency.
- Students connect with their instructors and with the subject matter to make the experience of learning constructive and supportive.
